Holy shit

Some words about today:

I decided yesterday (since I have not been doing any “work” the day before y. and y.) that I’ll wake up at 4 (managed to wake up at 5.30) and work till 10 - thus putting in 6 hours and later I’ll continue that I’ll have like 10 hours today. So far this is what happened:

I woke up, an hour has been gone (toilet, some coffee, some reading), I went to a shop got some stuff (youghurt, toilet paper, some drinks, etc.) then back I turned on my laptop. And it looked like it’s dead. Of course I knew it’s not dead since I like these machines - they never die with me unless they show signs before. Besides yesterday night it was working perfect. The hour was getting late in it though, lately.  So the problem was the RTC clock’s battery. I figured myself - and just think about it the machine is a T40 (IBM) and it would not boot unless the BIOS time is set up correctly. How it knows whether it’s ok or not I have no idea - but it stayed at the boot screen for like minutes and I had to set the time before it let me boot into Windoze. I needed this since I would not want to assemble my other desktop machine (I don’t really like those nowadays) - and still wanted to get some kinda hardware manual for the laptop. I managed to find it and it told me exactly where I’ll find that stupid battery. So another hour - hour and some went by doing the replacement. I was lucky though, since I had some stupid remote-control of an USB tuner card at home (that I seldom if ever use) and the battery in it was a close fit. I soldered the wires to the new battery and it all went without a hitch. Good. The poor thing is working now (my workhorse) - I’m typing this on her. Some plastic pieces were fallen out of her - so she looks a bit wounded :( No harm made to internals though. I also trashed the useless built-in wifi card - probably saving some electricity thus. If someone has a Mini-PCI wifi card and wants to give it to me I’d gladly accept :)

Well, what else? Oh yes, yesterday I kept my cellphone turned off and did not talk to anyone. It was OK. I read a book, an other 2/3 book and some. No coding or thinking on how to get rich this time :-)

Today I have also just finished this www.athomebudapest.com site (mainly backend stuff) since I promised the poor guys 1.5 weeks before. It took a few hours of my time but it’s outta window now.

Today I need to work on other sites and get in touch with Matt about drupal related things. Work-work-work. The weather is good, the sun is shining. What else do you need? A cat, maybe…. or a cat-girl… hm… better both :-)
