i read several years ago the meaning of this painting.according to the story, his wife gala was unfaithful having many men in her life and dali wanted to show that althought she was in dali’s life as his partnert she was unreacheable for him.by looking in this painting you can distinguish her face but are not able to have a clear icon of her.
