USA, America
Well. I had a kind of harsh opinion about America and Americans in general. In the past. Of course I knew it is a stupid thing as not all Americans are the same - just the same way as not all Hungarians are the same (despite the prejudices and all).
Now it all seems to be changing thanks to a documentary-travel-kinda movie (in 12 parts, cca. 50 minutes each) created a few years before (my estimate is 2004-2005) that I happened to watch in the last two days. It was created by the well known Hungarian showman, Fábry Sándor and his friend Wahorn András. The reason why they made the movie was Wahorn’s Cadillac which he wanted to take back to Hungary, as he was moving back here. The Caddy was an old red Eldorado (nice big car btw.). So they planned to travel from L.A. through Canada, Alaska, Syberia and Russia. I am now at the Syberian parts.
All in all Wahorn is the more philosophical type of guy (50+ years) and he invites us to a few friends of his in L.A., they visit a few interesting places and so on. There were a few ideas expressed by him that hit me hard:
- In America you cannot blame anyone else except you. If you are doing good - that’s because of You - and if you are doing bad that’s also because of You. Take responsibility. I strongly suggest this idea to all my readers as well.
- Fear makes no sense. Especially fear of death. When your “time’s up” it’s up. If you fear - be it anything - you just make your life experience taste bad. Who needs that?
