The pickup artist

I have just recently got to know that the guy called ‘Mystery’ has took it a step further and now he has his own tv show. I admit that the guy knows something. But the way this tv show is made is ridiculous. At least he does what he likes. Maybe teaches a few tricks to some. And also earns a good sum of money I imagine.

I am pretty much confident that at least some of the guys actually taking part in it are (amateur) actors. The whole shit is soooo planned. The sounds, the different type of guys (so that every guy watching it can identify himself with at least one of them), the house they rented for them, etc. Now that I have seen a few series of Donald Trump’s: The apprentice I guess some of the same guys are behind this too. The sounds, the whole atmosphere, the “drama” it tries to put on you is the same. To be exact I think the music/sound is more than familiar…

Also a 45 year old virgin is impossible to me. Of course I can believe that such people exist, but highly doubt that they go on tv. The other is some japanese guy who actually cried several times. This from a 27 year old is strange. And those characters. Soooooo organized. There’s

  • a fat guy (who actually is funny also making it suit the general idea of fat people usually being funny)
  • an indian guy (no indian accent, but talks incomprehensible stuff mostly)
  • a geek type of guy (with glasses of course!)
  • a japanese (actually quit in part 2)
  • an older guy (the 45 old “virgin”. skeptic as most older guys are with a reason of course)
  • a spanish-type character with curly hair who likes to breakdance
  • a white blond thin guy
  • and an other white guy who has not done anything memorable so far

I miss the black guy… But maybe in the next series - if it will live that long :)

So what else? They actually do not really tell you anything about the techniques. I know that the whole purpose of such a show is to entertain and sell the ads. But still. I have actually watched a few of the other pickup artists videos and there’s a lot to learn. But if you want to learn something about picking up females - well, this is not the show to watch.

UPDATE Sep. 14.: Well, actually - now that I have seen parts #5 and #6 I have to tell the show is getting better and better. I was able to learn a few things I did not know before (like what a corset is). And not counting these poor guys crying over and over again - you could see some real and good interactions.
