Why we do not need freaking lawyers?
Johnson and Johnson has sued the American red cross a few days ago. They are saying that the use of the red cross logo by them is illegal.
That’s the story. Why is it interesting? Well, J&J products need to pay some royalty to the red cross for putting the red cross logo onto their products. I think they miss the few millions that might be saved (by not giving it away for cheaper of course but keeping the extra bucks) by not paying royalties.
The basis of this whole insane shit is that allegedly the red cross did not get an official registration for the sign in time. It was in the 1900-something years. Quite long before. In those times the non-profit and the for-profit organizations just went ok - they have both used the signs and no one paid any royalties (I guess) to the other. Of course this changed later on. J&J also kind of ‘registered’ (maybe this is not the roper word) the logo in those years. And they seem to get it official before the red cross. Bad luck
But again this is just an other case of bullshitting each other. I am not even curious about what J&J needs to say. Maybe if it’s all about he royalties the two organizations should settle down and discuss this with each other. If it’s just bullshitting then - as one of the commenters said on the site where I read it - it’s a pity the crusaders did not sue J&J for using their sign. Or even better Jesus Christ should sue them because of this.
This is so funny.
