I still think that Drupal is a good enough CMS / CMS framework, however this i18n madness is just nuts. It should be really simple - like once I have added a piece of content (node) just allow me to translate all parts of it (that's in core), and allow me to translate the menu as well and all the blocks, views, everything. If I switch languages then show me the translated version of all content / menus / blocks if available. If there's no translated content - show the default language and maybe a message that it's not yet translated. Have a flag that gets cleared whenever someone updates the original content (so that I know the translations might need to be updated). That's all. Not the fucking nonsense it is today. Or maybe I am just too impatient (no I'm not), or I am not able to decipher drupal's really elaborate and forward thinking scheme (maybe not?).

Hi there!

But Drupal is very good in terms of SEO (much better than Typo3 or Joomla) with many many many free (SEO) plugins. For our small site we think it is the right choice - not knowing the #%^$* about the multilanguage module. We have seen it implemented in some other sites not knowing that it is such a mess.

Let's hope Drupal 7 will solve at least some of the hassles and make life easier for web developers.

Thanks anyway for working your way through all that mess. What I have seen so far from our new site you are doing for us, looks really promising!

Thanks and best regards,
Michael
